Aside from my academic credentials, conquering my own health struggles has also given me the experience to guide others to success.

The first sign that my health was failing began in college when I came down with a bad case of the flu during finals. This led to never getting my energy back and a diagnosis of kidney disease in my late 20’s. I met with my doctor’s dietitian and we revamped my diet which led me on the path of deeper research into nutrition and lifestyle choices. I learned so much and realized I wanted to go back to school and teach others how to make better choices and start to feel better.

I knew I had discovered my calling, so I started pouring my energy into finding the right nutrition school. One that did not look at nutrition as a one size fits all approach, but instead looked at the science, energy system and mechanics of the body, in order to look at a person as a whole.

I found a program that offered a holistic health approach to nutrition with a very heavy science-based curriculum that included anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, disease pathology and used nutrition to support gut health, weight management and more.

Meanwhile my health challenges kept coming when I was faced with adrenal fatigue. Each time I got a new diagnosis, I would deep dive into why - what is the root cause?  I would make some shifts in my individual plan with great results.  I found myself sharing with others what I was learning and knew I needed to get the credentials to get out and really help others in the same boat as me.

I witnessed this holistic approach at work first-hand when I was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr and an autoimmune disease. This time, I had the tools to manage my conditions through nutrition and lifestyle.

Today, I am board certified in holistic nutrition and I work as a Master Nutrition Therapist (MNT) and a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP) who looks at you as a whole.
